Pulgas is undeniable garbage wizardry. Their self titled debut release sounds like it was recorded in a trashcan with a modified trash-mic by trash people, but that belies the boundless creativity and musicianship contained within. Guitar record of the year? If you smoke trash, DEFINITELY. Hot licks galore, meaty beats and hooks that wouldn’t sound out of place in 1974 Philly soul. (More accurately, a soul hopped up on huffed fumes from that undeniable summer Philadelphia stench. Nacho cheese and boiled hotel washcloths, folks. You know what I mean.) It’s not easily classifiable, but it fucking rules. 8 inch picture disc out early summer on Boiled Records.
